International Peace Day

The International Peace Day was celebrated on 21st of September, 2011.The commemoration began in the assembly where the students were acquainted about the importance of Peace Day through a speech. Later, the students wrote quotations of the great peace makers of the world on placards and displayed them. School Principal Mr. Rajiv released a dove as a symbol of peace commemoration. Students exhibited their feelings by releasing white balloons.



Investiture Ceremony

The ‘Investiture Ceremony’ was held on 29th September 2011.The newly elected first-line administrators donned the mantle of leadership in the presence of director, teachers and students. They marched smartly up to the dais, accompanied by their respective House-In charges. The Director administered the oath of office and pinned on the badges. He urged the prefectorial team to set a high standard of discipline, team spirit and leadership qualities.


Color Day for K.G

Kindergarten children celebrated the Colour Day on 6th October 2011 with full of colourful fun and activities. In the morning, the students assembled in the Multipurpose Hall dressed in bright colours. They sang songs on colours and learnt the colours of the Rainbow in English and Arabic and spellings of colours by the way of songs. They were given colouring activity.


Field Trip

L.K.G  & H.K.G children went to Kids Kingdom on 26/10/2011 and 27/10/2011 respectively.
On 02/11/2010 Grade III - VI went to Adhari Park.
On 03/11/2010 Grade I – IV to Adhari Park and Grade VII – X  to Wahoo.
L.K.G  & H.K.G children went to Adhari Park on 28/12/2011 and 29/12/2011 respectively.
KS I & KS II children went to Dolphin Show on 04/01/2012 & 05/01/2012 respectively.
KS III children went to movie (Sherlock Holmes) at City Centre on 04/01/2012.

CIPP Felicitation Ceremony

A felicitation ceremony to appreciate the efforts of 78 students who successfully underwent the Cambridge International Primary Achievement Test and the Cambridge Checkpoint Tests under the University of Cambridge International Examinations, UK was held on Saturday, 19th of November 2011.
Around 120 parents and students attended the event at the school premises in Saar where Honourable Managing Director Mr. H. G. Sharma awarded the certificates and trophies.
The subject toppers are as follows.

Mansi Gautam              -      English   
Sayed Ahmed Hamza    -       English   
Hasan Borhan Hasan     -       Maths  

Mansi Gautam              -      Science       

The Cambridge International Primary Achievement Tests and the Cambridge Checkpoint Tests for Grade VI and IX students respectively, are standardized tests which provide feedback on a student’s strengths and weaknesses in key curriculum areas.
These tests are available in English, Mathematics and Science and are specially designed for students beginning courses leading to IGCSE.



Fruit Salad Day

Special assembly was held on 24th November 2011 and the important of fruits was explained. Each child brought one fruit. Teacher made fruit salad out of them and distributed to children. Children were given fruit pictures to colour.

World Children’s Day & Road Safety Day

 World Children’s Day & Road Safety Day was celebrated on 20th November 2011.A variety of programmes were planned and conducted in the school’s Multipurpose Hall. Master Talal Abdulla gave a speech on the importance of children’s Day. Children exhibited their hidden talents through the Talent show and mesmerized the audience. An interesting Quiz programme was organised. Students actively participated and won prizes.

Miss Fajer VI A gave an insight to the importance of safety rules to be followed.

Special cards and sweets were distributed to all the children as a token of love by their class teachers.



National Day

National day was celebrated on 15th December 2011 with great enthusiasm and pride. A special assembly was conducted on this day. Students wore traditional dresses and performed traditional dances and recited poems in praise of Bahrain. The Arabic staff conducted Quiz. The prizes were awarded to the winners. The students also distributed sweets to mark the occasion. 

Bahrain First

The ‘Bahrain First’ was commemorated on Thursday, 22nd of December 2011. 22 students from Al Mahd participated in this glorious event. The programme began with the speech of the ruling King of Bahrain followed by a speech by the Minister of Education and other cultural programmes. The highlight of the programme was the traditional dance of Bahrain performed by the secondary school students.

Inter-house Competitions

  • Inter-house Painting and Colouring competition was held on 6th October 2011. In this event various students from all the four houses drew colourful drawings. The winners were awarded certificates.
  • 44 students of 4 Houses participated in Inter-House Football Competition held on October 2011. The finals were played between Aradous and Tylos House, TYLOS won.
  • Twenty students aged 5 –14 participated in the Inter-House Elocution competition on October 20th 2011.  The participants recited interesting pieces about, “Please, Thank You and Pardon Me”, “Keep A Poem in Your Pocket”, “Don’t Give Up”, “Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening”,  & “Daffodils”. The young speakers rendered their pieces with confidence and aplomb. They were judged on diction, memory, expression, posture and presentation. The winners were awarded certificates.
  • Twenty students age 5 –14 of Al Mahd Day Boarding School participated in the final round of their Annual Inter-House Quran Recitation competition on November 3, 2011. The contestants recited suras from the Holy Quran and were judged on their presentation, memory and pronunciation. The winners were awarded certificates.
  • 44 students of 4 Houses participated in Inter-House Basketball Competition held on December 2011. The finals were played between ARADOUS and TYLOS House. ARADOUS won.
  • Sixteen students age 11–14 participated in the final round of their Annual Inter-House Debate competition on November 24, 2011. They gave their views for and against of the topic. The contestants were judged on their presentation, pronunciation, subject matter and rebuttal. The winners were awarded certificates.
  • Inter-House Handwriting Competition was held on 1st December 2011.In this event various students take part in it. This event encourages our students to improve their handwriting skills.
  • Inter-House Fancy Dress Competition was held on 29th December 2011.In this event various students dressed up in various costumes like parrot, penguin, caveman, mermaid, candy, sunflower, snake, witch, fairy, grapes, Egyptian mummy, Einstein & Mother Teresa.

Inter-School Debate Contest

XII Al Mahd Inter-School Debate was held on 10th of December 2011, at Saar School premises. Twenty-eight participants from seven top private schools of Bahrain, including the host school, took part in this event.

Al Mahd Inter-School Rolling Trophy was bagged by ST.CHRISTOPHER’S SCHOOL.
